Can we meet you? Kindly share a little about who you are and what you do (outside of Peacepace Initiative), with us.
My name is Ojo Jesufemi Ayomide. I am a Christian and I love to give back to my community in any way I can. I am passionate about seeing the younger generation walking in their purpose and using their potentials for the greater good. I love helping people and seeing them progress in life. I currently work at the Baptist Women’s Missionary Union, Ibadan as an Editor. I write, edit and proofread articles for publication. I also volunteer with other NGOs.
How did you learn of Peacepace Initiative?
I learnt about Peacepace Initiative through their social media posts and through a good friend of mine who was already an Ambassador in the Initiative (Ambassador Kolawole Stephen).
What I ordered Vs what I got – How has the experience been since you joined the Initiative in contrast to your expectations?
I think, so far, the Initiative has done so well. My expectation is aligned with my experience. The leadership is doing far beyond my expectations. I have learnt so many things as a member of the organization and as the leader of my wonderful team.
I have learnt how to advocate for peace, how to lead and work with a team and so many other things.
What team/unit do you belong to, and how have you been uniquely contributing to the vision of the Initiative?
I belong to the Content Creation unit. The vision of the organization is to see individuals, communities and nations live in peace and I contributed to this vision by writing articles related to the issues of peace. I also joined the organization in organizing peace outreaches and conferences, and teaching students how to live peacefully in their homes, schools and communities.
Furthermore, anytime I discover any conflict around me, as an ambassador of peace, I make use of the lessons which I have learnt in Peacepace conferences to resolve them.
How do you feel about winning this award and getting this recognition?
I didn’t even expect it. I was so surprised to see my name mentioned as the Ambassador of the Year. I was so excited.
With the trajectory of Peacepace Initiative, where do you see the Initiative going in the near future?
I see the initiative having more ambassadors in different countries and changing the world for the better. This organization will be one of the great organizations that nations will beckon on for solutions.
In a few words, please, inspire other Ambassadors and members of the public to join in and more actively support the vision of the Peacepace Initiative.
