MEET  PEACEPACE INITIATIVE AMBASSADOR OF THE   YEAR  FOR 2022.

Four of our noble ambassadors were finalists in the 2022 Ambassador of the Year selection process. The choicest ambassador with the majority of votes – and therefore the winner of the 2022 Ambassador of the Year award – is Amb. Pascalis Nepo from Yola, Adamawa state. 

Amb. Pascalis facilitated two Peace Culture workshops in two secondary schools with 139 students in his Jimeta -Yola community of Adamawa state using our workshop contents in 2022. Kindly explore this Facebook page for pictures from the workshops.

The 2022 Ambassador of the Year award winner was recently interviewed by our Amb. Barnabas Akinrinola who heads our Editorial unit. We are glad to share the outcome of the said interview with you below:

Can you introduce yourself, Ambassador?

My name is Pascalis Nepo (A.K.A DeNoshaking). I am a Diploma holder from the Department of Business Management Education (DBME) of the Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola. I hope to further my studies anytime an opportunity presents itself. I am a Teacher who loves reading books; a grassroots politician with maximum influence in the grassroots; and an entrepreneur who specializes in Barbering (Hair Styling) with more than a decade of experience in the Barbering Industry. 

My passion in life is always to have a community where peace thrives and is the backbone of it. I am always inclined towards learning and relearning anything that has a positive impact on society. I see influencing people to ‘adopt peace’ as a better way of rendering services to humanity because no community can ever develop or prosper without peace. It’s why I love, practice and teach about PEACE anywhere I find myself. I’ve always been passionate about finding a better means or platform of preaching or teaching peace to my community and beyond. I’m grateful I found the Peacepace Initiative.

When did you join the Peacepace Initiative and how did you hear of the Initiative?

I joined the Peacepace Initiative in the year 2021 through an advert on their Facebook handle about a program called ‘PROJECT YOUNG NARRATORS’ which caught my interest. I was privileged to participate in the Northeast cohort.

Your experience so far at the Initiative briefly.

This organization has been the exact sort of platform that I’d been longing to join because it is made up of different young individuals with different professions and areas of expertise banding together for a common goal: Actualizing Peace in every aspect of life.

I really love and respect the Peacepace Initiative family because they are the best.

What role has Peacepace been playing in society? As someone within the organization, do you think Peacepace has been making any impact?

Well, the impact of this organization on our society cannot be overemphasized. The organization has consistently been up to the task of ensuring that peace becomes the bedrock of our society. In fact, after my visit to a school in my community for a PEACE CULTURE campaign, organized and sponsored by the Peacepace Initiative, I saw and am still seeing the positive impact it made on my community. I’ve been monitoring some of the students that I taught peace to and I can see that it has been of great usefulness to their lives.

What do you imagine sets you apart from other Ambassadors in 2022? What does this award mean to you?

Actually, what really sets me apart is nothing but the grace of God and my determination and passion to work with the organization. I must confess that I never expected this award. I thank God Almighty who made it possible for me to be awarded. This award really means a lot to me. It encourages me to put in more effort.

What would you like to say to fellow Ambassadors about what Peacepace is doing and has the potential of doing in the future?

Dear fellow Ambassadors, inasmuch as we all know what this organization is all about and what it has achieved so far, I would like to tell you that I see this wonderful organization going beyond what it now is and has been in the past few years. Yes, this organization is, in no distant time, going to make history and will undoubtedly contribute to our world becoming a better and more conducive environment to live in. By God’s grace, we will all be part of it. I believe that it is achievable.

What would you like to say to someone out there who is interested in being a part of the Peacepace Initiative as an Ambassador? Apart from joining the organization as an Ambassador, how else can a member of the society support the Peacepace vision?

As it is stated that ‘Peace is a state of positive mental attitude’, hence anybody with that positive mental attitude is welcome to join. If someone is looking for a platform to help him/her to be guided on how to develop the said positive mental attitude, Peacepace Initiative is the place to be.

Also, any well-meaning individual or organization can support Peacepace Initiative’s vision in such ways as:

* By practicing peace

* By financing or sponsoring the organization to carry out designed tasks and projects.

* By creating an enabling environment for the organization to teach people (especially the younger generation) on the importance of peace.
