We are in the days in which the television screen, pages of the newspapers and voices that emerge from our radio stations afford us nothing but evil and terrible information. Many retirees have heard news of unpaid gratuities and pensions and as a result departed this world out of shocks. Youths have been involved in myriads of dubious activities and it turns out that they lose a handsome amount of money which in turn has lead them to committing suicide. Children are not left out in this ordeal. Unrealistic gymnastic moves and wild thinking seen on television screens have been copied by these innocent minds and have their lives endangered as a result.

These people have faced one casualty or the other because they have allowed their conditions to overcome their emotion and taking a better part of them thereby becoming hopeless and helpless. As I think through all these happenings among other abnormalities which have denied us of peaceful living in our society, I come to a resolution that they were never like this from the beginning just as the Bible affirms it.
This made me to remember a rhyme we used to sing back in my primary school and the lyrics make sense to me. Below is the first and last stanzas as composed by Cecil France Alexander (1848):

All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

It is no doubt that God has made everything well. All we need to do is to reach out to them and appreciate the one that made them thus. Remember that as you see and profess them bright and beautiful, so will they always be for you. But if you think and act otherwise, the resultant effect is as you take it to be. Have a beautiful and optimistic mind and you will get it all together in the midst of unfulfilled and myriad of your dreams. Think and act peacefully towards other people and you have a bountiful harvest of peace in your life and the society at large. Peace is beautiful and divine. So, crave and work for it.
